SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST

The supply chain specialist focuses on the procurement of materials required for R&D and Production team. This role focuses on product sourcing and inventory planning/forecasting, from overseas and Indian manufacturers for the projects assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and evaluate domestic and foreign suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities

  • Negotiate price, terms and conditions with suppliers in domestic and foreign countries

  • Monitor and analyze suppliers’ performance to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements

  • Manage inventory, shipments, tariffs, product quality, and other aspects of supply chain

  • Manage material inventories and replenishment to support manufacturing requirements while maintaining adequate safety stock

  • Create, maintain and distribute supplier orders/material releases in line with production requirements 

  • Communicate supplier order requirements and manage supplier acknowledgments or deviations from the plan

  • Coordinate logistics for incoming material with purchasing team as needed

  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services

  • Support or lead cycle counts, maintain records of inventory adjustments, and ensure inventory accuracy as needed

  • Analyze trends to proactively identify supply issues to minimize risk and ensure continuity of supply

  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure an on-time and complete delivery

  • Create/maintain Bill of Materials in the ERP or related systems as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Domestic or international travel may be required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or equivalent

  • 4 to 8 years of work experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management with a desire to work in a supply chain management role

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate across all organizational levels

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Expertise in MS Excel and experience with document control, including engineering drawings releases and revision control

  • Ability to understand and interpret component drawings
